Reflections from “As a man thinketh” by James Allen

Photo by Thought Catalog on Unsplash "Victories attained by right thought can only be maintained b watchfulness. Many give way when success is assure, and rapidly fall back into failure.  All achievements, whether in the business, intellectual, or spiritual world, are the result of definitely directed thought, are governed by the same law and are of the same method; the only difference lies in the object of attainment." Awareness - I must always be alert and watchful over my thoughts, there can be no slacking in this area. Made me think of all the scriptures that admonish to be alert, watchful and of a sober mind. Change / Take Action - I will continue to watch my thoughts so I don't loose ground or slip back into what i've conquered.

When there is wrong application of thought one may begin to experience a descent either in circumstances etc." Awareness and change : Man is made or unmade by himself and so I will learn to cooperate with the law of cause and effect and be more deliberate in my thinking knowing that this is a way I can control as master of my life the effects I experience.👍

Photo by Thought Catalog on Unsplash Allen states that "Character is simply the sum of our thoughts. And character manifests itself in our environment and through our circumstances. So, the outer condition of your life is always a reflection of your inner state" . Awareness: This is a truth I can’t run from so I need to learn to engage it in my favour. Take action: Plant thoughts in my mind in line with what I want to see in my character and the outer circumstances of my life.

I find this to be a very profound statement as it pushes one to actively pick up and take full responsibility for thoughts in the mind and shows that it is for man himself, not another, to cultivate the soil of the mind. Awareness: It is my responsibility to tend my thoughts to see the type of fruits I want. I can’t leave it to chance or else I risk a harvest of weeds.

Update

Malaga, Spain Happy Sunday Today is a great day because it is the day the Lord has made and I am alive and grateful to God for everything and for my life. I hope you're also having a great day wherever you are. As promised I've been posting on this blog in keeping with the challenge I set myself to post every single day for 90 days. However, due to lack of adequate planning on my part I missed some days and to remain accountable to you I've decided that for every day I miss, I'll revert back to Day 1 of the challenge, now the heat is on 😳 I know that by doing this I will develop: The habit of consistency - up until now I have struggled with this, I start beautifully but then move on to start the next thing and the next thing and forget that I haven't finished the first thing I started or the thing I had purposed in my mind to do. A changed mindset - up until now, every time I missed a deadline or fall of the bandwagon I would feel guilty but I kno...
