Reflections from "As a man thinketh" by James Allen

"Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realises that he is a CREATIVE POWER and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself. Reflecting on this highlights the fact that I have been created with creative power (made in the image of God) and I have the power to command as master of myself the circumstances o f my life. Awareness:  I have creative power, the power is within me, it is not without. Change / Take action: Again, I will take back control of my life, stop looking outwards and begin to make commandments over my thoughts, my life and ultimately over my circumstances.

Update

Hello Hope you're well. It's that time again when I give a quick blogging update. So if you've been reading my blog posts for some time you will realise that I've not posted in 3-4 days, which means I start the 90-day blogging challenge again 😢 It is not the update I'd planned to give but I've learned that on the road to success, one is bound to encounter a few obstacles/challenges and even experience a few setbacks. It is all part of the process and I gladly accept it. What does this mean? My challenge starts again tomorrow and at a later date I will share some tactics that I'll be using this time around to get me to the finish line, That's it for now, enjoy the rest of your week. Love BelovedEsther

Reflections from "As a man thinketh" by James Allen

"Every act of man is as a result of thought. Character can only manifest in environment and circumstance. Even the body responds to the thoughts a man allows, good thoughts encourage a strong, graceful body and the reverse is true." Awareness: As I continue to grasp this concept, I'm developing a greater appreciation for the thoughts that I entertain in my mind and I now truly understand that they will eventually manifest in my environment/circumstance. Take action: Continue to examine my thoughts and take charge.

Reflections from “As a man thinketh” by James Allen

“Your wishes and dreams will only come true when they are in harmony with your thoughts and actions. It is futile to fight against circumstances. You cannot change your surroundings while continuing to think the same thoughts that brought you here. To improve your circumstances, improve yourself. Self-discipline is key to obtaining anything you want, no matter whether your aims are high or low. Even those who simply desire money must make many personal sacrifices to earn it. Think of how many more sacrifices it takes to develop a resilient, trustworthy, inspiring, fully-rounded character.” Awareness : I am no longer going to fight against circumstances, my goal is to elevate my thoughts from negative, fearful, doubtful and self limiting to positive, manly and courageous thoughts.

Day 26 - 30 Day Minimalist Challenge

Day 26  Today I am getting rid of more synthetic balls of wool 😊😊 Side note - I am not giving up crochet, I am just creating space in my room and life. I will revisit this hobby when the time is right.

Allens states: "Those who lack a central purpose in life fall prey to worries, fears, and petty troubles, and end up stuck in self-pity. They may appear virtuous because they lack any glaring faults and make no great mistakes, but they take a long, winding route to failure and unhappiness just the same." Awareness: Having a central purpose/vision is so important. It drives you to a certain destination. The power of thought multiplies through focus and concentration. Take action: I am dedicated to revisiting, refining and following my central vision because I know it will guide me to my desired destination, sure.

Reflections from “As a man thinketh” by James Allen

“The outer world of circumstance shapes itself to the inner world of thought, and both pleasant and unpleasant external conditions are factors, which make for the ultimate good of the individual. As the reaper of his own harvest, man learns both by suffering and bliss.” Awareness: This just stands out to me. I cannot expect a particular result on the outside while doing something completely opposed to the results I'm expecting or yet still, nurturing something completely different in nature on the inside, i.e planting oranges, but expecting mangoes. Take action: This week, I'll be examining my thought processes, what I'm really putting in and the results I see.

Hello Hope you're well and keeping warm I'm officially past Day 20 of the challenge 💪💪💪 Today I'll be sharing a few thoughts and tips I've picked up along the way as some of you have asked me questions about the challenge. However, b efore diving in, you may find my post on why I decided to take part in the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge  helpful. Clutter presents itself in various forms - it can be physical, mental, digital clutter etc - but it doesn't happen out of the blue, clutter it builds up over a period of time. This may be due to a number of reasons including neglect, lack of storage space, change of location etc and while some have found a way to manage it, this is not the case for many.  Physical clutter has been known to put a strain on those living with it and can cause varying levels of overwhelming feelings. I was beginning to experience some of this in my life which is why I started the decluttering process and jumped on the 30 Day Minima

Live life by design not default

Lagos, Algarve, Portugal Hello Today's post is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. “Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.” Awareness: My spare time is a precious commodity that should not be regarded lightly, once gone, it’s gone. Change / Take Action : I will redefine the way I see and use my spare time. I will use and continue to use my spare time as an opportunity to improve myself, my skills and my life in general for the future I wanted to see tomorrow. For me, in a nutshell, this means living by design and not by default.

Why the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge?

Photo by  tu tu  on  Unsplash   Hello Hope you had a great weekend wherever you are!!! Today I'd like to share my reasons for taking part in the minimalist challenge. For those who may be wondering what this challenge is all about, it is simply a challenge to help people get rid of things accumulated over time. If like me you have clutter that has accumulated over the years, this challenge can help start the decluttering process. On a deeper level, it shows how one can live a full, meaningful life with fewer possessions. Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus of The Minimalists are advocates of the challenge and explain more about what minimalism looks like on their site. For some time now, I have been going through my personal possessions in an attempt to get rid of what I no longer use or need, but I was still coming back to a bedroom full of clutter. Then on a fateful day, while watching YouTube videos of finances (a topic for another day), I stumbled on a

Dubrovnik, Croatia Allen states that "By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. When there is wrong application of thought one may begin to experience a descent either in circumstances etc. Man is made or unmade by himself." Change - I will learn to cooperate with the law of cause and effect and be more deliberate in my thinking knowing that this is a way I can control as master of my life the effects I experience.👍

Day 14 - 30 Day Minimalist Challenge

Hello Hope your weekend has started off well? Today I continue with the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge. Since moving into double digit days I've had to be more creative with the things I'm getting rid of. Today it is 14 fiction books by various authors including John Grisham one of my favourite authors. BelovedEsther

90 Day Exercise Quick Check In

Hello Hope you've had a great day, and are looking forward to the weekend, I sure am 😬 Today I want to check in and talk about how this exercise has been going for me and the challenges I've faced to date. This exercise is stretching me, especially in the area of my commitment to myself and to my word and I'm not even at the halfway mark. When my coach suggested I do this, I thought oh sure piece of cake, how wrong I've been. It takes a lot more to commit to an exercise like this, more so when you've made yourself accountable to others. To date I've learned the following: You can't rely on goodwill alone to get things done, life will always happen even to the best of us and then what?  In life, there are always competing interests and you have to learn to factor these into whatever you're setting out to do to get a realistic picture. Your schedule, planner, a digital reminder is your best friend.  I listened to a podcast on productivi
