Hello

Hope you're well and keeping warm

I'm officially past Day 20 of the challenge 💪💪💪

Today I'll be sharing a few thoughts and tips I've picked up along the way as some of you have asked me questions about the challenge. However, b
efore diving in, you may find my post on why I decided to take part in the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge helpful.

Clutter presents itself in various forms - it can be physical, mental, digital clutter etc - but it doesn't happen out of the blue, clutter it builds up over a period of time. This may be due to a number of reasons including neglect, lack of storage space, change of location etc and while some have found a way to manage it, this is not the case for many.

Physical clutter has been known to put a strain on those living with it and can cause varying levels of overwhelming feelings. I was beginning to experience some of this in my life which is why I started the decluttering process and jumped on the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge when I discovered it. For me, the challenge is a fun way to keep the momentum going.

If you have a fair amount of clutter or junk sitting in your home, the 30 Day Minimalist Challenge may be an easy way to start the clearing out process.

It is important for me to state here that I am far from my goal but tackling the clutter in my bedroom this way has really helped me approach the process in a manageable way.

If you have made the choice to start the process, the tips below may be useful.

  • The easiest way to approach this is as a fun challenge - the challenge should be seen as a soft introduction into the decluttering process
  • Start small - this will help you not feel overwhelmed
  • Tackle one room at a time - I've started with my bedroom as I spend most of my time at home there
  • You can take it further by starting with a set of what you own. E.g:
    • Shoes
    • Clothes
    • Jewellery etc.
  • Involve family and friends - I think this makes it more engaging and provides accountability
  • Document your journey - I find doing this gives me the drive I need to keep going
  • Celebrate your victories along the way.
These are just a few tips to get you started. Hopefully, you find them useful and beyond that, I hope they spur you on to begin the process of reclaiming your space.

That's it for now, till next time

Love
BelovedEsther

Reflections from "As a man thinketh" by James Allen

"As a being of intelligence, power and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills." Awareness: I hold the key to the change I desire, I must learn to look inwards and begin to work this principle in my life.

We are victims of circumstances only so long as we consider ourselves pawns of fate, tossed here and there by outside forces. But if you realise your creative power - if you assume responsibility for the seeds and soil of your inner garden - then you become the master of your fate' James Allen Awareness - As long as I continue to think of myself as the victim of circumstance, nothing will change. Take Action/Change - As master of my fate, I will no longer have a victim mentality but turn it around by working on the inner garden of my mind/thoughts
