Slay Doubt Challenge - Chapter 3 Reflections

Slay Doubt by Detola Amure

Every child of God has been called to influence a sphere of society, to bring transformation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Your assignment, the problem that you are called to solve, may fall into one or more of these mountains of influence or spheres of society.

It is not about the number of people you are called to, but about recognising your calling and your area of influence.

This chapter was straight to the point for me.

It reminded me about the need to identify and understand the spheres of society I've been called to serve. You may know them as the 7 mountains of influence. They are:
  1. Business
  2. Arts & Entertainment
  3. Education
  4. Government
  5. Media
  6. Religion
  7. Families.
This chapter was a reminder to re-examine what I believe to be my spheres of society and begin taking steps to influence them for the kingdom of God.

If you want to read more about these areas of influence alongside Detola's book, I recommend The 7 Mountains of Influence by Bronwyn O'Brien. It goes into a lot more depth about the mountains of influence.

Reflections from "As a man thinketh" by James Allen

"As a being of intelligence, power and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills." Awareness: I hold the key to the change I desire, I must learn to look inwards and begin to work this principle in my life.

Reflections from "As a man thinketh" by James Allen

We are victims of circumstances only so long as we consider ourselves pawns of fate, tossed here and there by outside forces. But if you realise your creative power - if you assume responsibility for the seeds and soil of your inner garden - then you become the master of your fate' James Allen Awareness - As long as I continue to think of myself as the victim of circumstance, nothing will change. Take Action/Change - As master of my fate, I will no longer have a victim mentality but turn it around by working on the inner garden of my mind/thoughts
