Slay Doubt Challenge - Chapter 6 Reflections

Hello all

Today we continue with my reflections from Slay Doubt by Detola Amure.

Navigating your past

We live in a fallen world where bad things happen. God never promised us that our lives would be easy, but He promised to always be there with us. He wants to turn your pain around for your good and for His glory, if you will let him.

This chapter delved into how past events affect our lives. Detola encourages that we change our perspective to that of God's because God can and does use all our experiences ultimately for our good.

It was an excellent reminder that I can either remain bitter about past events or let God use those same events to shape my future. It also made me check my heart to see if I'd truly forgiven and released the pain of past events from my heart.

"As a being of intelligence, power and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills." Awareness: I hold the key to the change I desire, I must learn to look inwards and begin to work this principle in my life.

We are victims of circumstances only so long as we consider ourselves pawns of fate, tossed here and there by outside forces. But if you realise your creative power - if you assume responsibility for the seeds and soil of your inner garden - then you become the master of your fate' James Allen Awareness - As long as I continue to think of myself as the victim of circumstance, nothing will change. Take Action/Change - As master of my fate, I will no longer have a victim mentality but turn it around by working on the inner garden of my mind/thoughts
